The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) of 2010 indicates compliance programs will become mandatory as a condition of enrollment in the Federal health care programs, a requirement confirmed by Daniel R. Levinson of the Office of Inspector General in his testimony to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Subcommittee on Health on September 22, 2010
The AAPC created the Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO™) credential. MCHC instructor Joseph Newsome, CPC, CPC-H CPCO, CPMA, CPPM, CPC-I, CEMC, passed the exam and has created the training program used in the Compliance Officer Boot Camp.
This 3-day training camp will review common compliance issues, rules, regulations, case studies and more. Developing a Compliance Plan to comply with PPACA enrollment requirements is only the beginning.
